It's about time

Ok... so I understand that it's been a while since my last post.
(I long while............. A *really* long while)

For those of you who have greatly anticipated a new entry everyday as you look upon this page, and cry out in disappointment each and every single time you see it blank...empty....deserted...lonely.....abandoned... I'm deeply sorry, and sincerely grieve at your heart-ache. But, now that you've seen that all is not lost - let's proceed!

You'd think that within... (*counts* January, February, March, April, May....) 5 months (wow, that's a long time), I'd have something interesting to say. Here's a short run-down on the 'big' events that have happened:

January
- Mom and I went down to Central Alberta for 2 weeks while my dad went on his annual college visiting trip. This is when I started to *really* get behind in my schoolwork; I hung out with my cousins, had a great time, and discovered that I bowl better left handed than right....

February
- I went to Youth Alert with my youth group... (there were sadly only 4 of us from Chetwynd)... we got a ride with the Houston youth group, and picked up Richelle on the way! :) (*yay*) We had a blast at PRBI... lazer tag, loud music, sweet-action dramas, an exploded JONES in our dorm room (mmm... cream soda!), a broken down bus - good times!

- My parents and I went to Edmonton for the Missions Fest... *sigh*... yay for big cities. We stayed in the Westin Hotel, went on *many* escalators and elevators, got some awesomely coconut smelling lipstuff (and the 3rd edition of the LOST magazine :D)....

March
- Spring Break camps! Went skiing at Powder King, then "shadowed" a cabin during the Teen Edger camp, and later took my CORE with many hyperactive, puberty-hit little boys. I passed the course and we all got a tour of Wayne Christienson's lodge. :) Rock on!

April
- I wrote my English 10 provincial (got 71%... I'm thrilled that I *passed*)
- My mom and I drove to Edmonton again for my Grandparent's 50th anniversary (dad had to stay home for the Dawson trade show and camp workbee). My cousins and I did lots of swimming... oh, and Galaxyland at West Ed? It rocks! I went on Space Shot, as well as the coaster.... I've been told that I screamed like a girl (and am quite proud of it).

For the record, the signs in Edmonton suck. :)

May
As far as I can remember, nothing terribly exciting has happened so far this month. Most of the leadership staff have arrived (they rock!)... but other than that, it's this weekend that will rock my...err... socks off! I'm going to YC in Edmonton with Ricky's youth group!! I'm *SO* excited.... can hardly wait! I'm leaving for her house this evening... and then we're heading out tomorrow morning. Hawk Nelson, KJ~52, Audio A, TFK, The Grits, Newsboys, Pillar..... :) I'll write all about it when I get back (hopefully not 5 months after the fact...lol)

The following is another itsy bitsy list of things that I'm looking forward to (in both the near future... and the very far away future)...

My 'Things I'm Looking Forward To' List
- This weekend!! YC! Edmonton! With Ricky! Woohoo!
- SUMMER.... no school, lots of people, staff, SEED.... SWAT!
- Grade 11... going to get ahead early in the year (*cough*as if*cough*)
- December = my birthday = 16 yrs = Learner's = driving!
- Next summer... Jo and I are going skydiving! :D (*ahem* right Jo??)
- Graduation.... woohoo! No more high-school!
- ROAD TRIP! Yeah... Ricky and myself are going away for at least 2 months at some point after grad... across Canada... down to Mexico... maybe we'll even extend the 'road trip' into a 'plane trip' and go right on over to Europe and Australia... (but that's a whole different topic in itself)

So... that's the major stuff.. that I know of at this point, anyway.

I would write more... but I gotta run; I'm heading out to Ricky's any minute!
Later 'gators...

*yawn*

(I meant to post this on Sunday yet, but I got a bit distracted and couldn't do it right away)

Wow, what a weekend.

I stayed at a friend's place (*hi richelle!*) for the weekend, and yikes.... the things we do: I think we scare people. (honestly)

For instance....... somehow we got this whole monkey thing going on. You know, those little monkeys that march around with the clapping symbols? Yeah........ well, turns out that waltzing around in circles imitating them quite amuses us. (Yes, we *are* mature people....usually.....except when we have our weak moments..........)

When we see each other, one of our "things" is to have those potato wedges from 7-11, and beef jerky (delicious): this visit proved to be no different. After grabbing (and paying for) some potato wedges, we walked down to the Co-op and casually sat on a bench to eat our "lunch." We got some pretty strange looks from people passing by... why? We weren't sure: but it was pretty funny.

Richelle is also a superb drawer (*your welcome* :P), so she taught me some "techniques"... if you wanna call it that. Mainly, she "coached" me through drawing Bambi (a pic of my drawing is yet to be posted). I accidently forgot to connect his left back leg to his butt.... so his leg kinda comes out of no where. hehe.... Oops! He looks awesome.

We *almost* got to the theatre to watch King Kong.... but for some odd reason Richelle declined the offer (even after I offered to pay! grr)..... :) oh well. Another time... *sigh* ;)

And talk about tired-ness! We've been planning on having a Lord of the Rings marathon for quite a while, and we ended up picking a very interesting night to do it. :) We started The Fellowship at about 7:30pm Saturday night, and ended at 6:45am on Sunday. We slept for 4 hours and 15 minutes in total; we would have slept longer, if not for Church. We were toast.

From Richelle nearly falling asleep during the middle of the marathon (thank goodness for cold water - it wakes people up quite nicely :P), to our awesome inside jokes... great stuff. And to think: I *almost* beat her on the X-box! Man... and air hockey, it was all pure chance, girl. ;) We also made this really cute miniatre snowman... he was knee high (or *just* shorter), with a red bandana around his neck, and a crooked smile.

Hope we can do it again soon, Richelle!
Peace!

Welcome...

Ok world, here I am!
Welcome, one and all, to "Al's Amazing Anti-Pink World"

After noticing (for several months now) how popular these blogs are, I've *finally* decided to take the plunge; to try something new for 2006, and to just be myself. I've decided to create my own blog! Oh yeah........ now I'm gettin' good.

Don't expect too many "deep" thoughts from me. I'll give my thoughts on random things, but whether they will be profound or not.... I guess you'll have to judge that one for yourself.

So, please - enjoy and come back soon...I *will* try writing a little more often than every other month (*ahem*)...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
